【Production Talk】Rampage Hardcore Police ~RAMPAGE HARDCORE POLICE~

Happy April Fool's Day, everyone! This year, there was no costume change or debut for anyone.

But there is April Fool's music, a free April Fool's EP from Jingxian - "The Large Brain Death Incident of Hu-Min-Guangdong." If you haven't listened to it yet, go listen to it right now.

Here is my work this time:

"Rampage Hardcore Police"

Cause#

I've always wanted to create a HARDCORE TECHNO POP song.

This concept is from TECHNORCH's Prime Minister's Award, which, to put it simply, is POP music that uses Hardcore elements.

Around ten years ago, a wave of Japanese pop music fused with Hardcore produced many works. Besides the aforementioned Prime Minister's Award, in the doujin scene, there is also the Hokkaido music group Critical Mosquito Party from Notebook Records.

This is probably the inspiration for my song this time.

(If you haven't listened to Critical Mosquito Party, then you can't say you've truly heard Hokkaido HARDCORE.)

Song#

The chorus melody of this song is actually M1dy's C21H23NO5. When I revisited M1dy a while ago, I felt that this melody was just perfect.

The structure is completely copied from Critical Mosquito Party's "Happiness Realization Sapience," which also changed my stereotype of Japanese hardcore. I highly recommend everyone to listen to it.

Originally, I planned to sing the entire song myself, but after recording a few tracks, I decided it would be better for everyone's ears to continue using SynthV.

Lyrics#

The arrangement of the whole song took only half an hour, so I won't elaborate much on that. The lyrics took me about half a month to come up with, and several sentences were already in my mind, like the line "the melody belongs to others."

I won't go into what I want to express with this song; everyone can have their own different interpretations. I also gained many different insights during the lyric-writing process.

Let me talk about what I initially wanted to express with this song.

For over ten years of listening to HDM, I've always encountered those who feel superior while listening to music and love to belittle others' musical tastes with words like "orthodox."

I think that's truly the most lowly thing in the world.

Isn't the music you listen to just another form of local hype? Those who listen to Western local hype look down on those who listen to Japanese local hype, and those who listen to Japanese local hype look down on those who listen to domestic local hype.

Don't you have anything else to do in your lives?

This was my initial thought for this theme.

Everyone should be a bit kinder to others. The need to distinguish between this and that only leads to division within the community.

There are also some other references in the lyrics; if you're patient, you can look for them.

Cover#

I also designed this cover!

I mainly wanted to create a MEME sticker bomb, adding some SX elements.

The design is really interesting!

For those who haven't heard this EP, you can also check it out on the official SX account. Although it's MEME music, it's all very high-quality work.

That's about it!

There are many more songs on the way later this month, so please support me. These past few months have really given me a sense of being a doujin music creator, and I need to turn this feeling into productivity.

See you all next time.
