The Dark Side of Music Creation

Many people have asked me about taking orders, so I will respond to this uniformly here.

Regarding music game music, I do not accept any orders, whether you are a commercial music game or a community music game. My personality does not suit serving clients, and I do not want to make big money or become a big player through music.

Aside from that, if you are a doujin music group and your project is interesting, feel free to reach out to me. I won’t charge you and can help with your master recordings and songwriting. Several groups have reached out to me in emergencies, and I have helped them. If you have such needs, you can DM me anytime.

Since I’ve mentioned this, I should share some experiences I’ve had.

In China, some so-called music game planners or organizers have a deep-rooted discrimination against Chinese people. Many of my friends are tormented by these people every day, and they have no way to speak out.

I often participate in community activities with foreigners and Japanese people, and many doujin groups do not care where you are from. If you post a demo, many people will willingly give you detailed feedback and encouragement, which is something I rarely see in China.

I used to be in several music game planning groups, and as long as you are not from mainland China, the expectations for your work are lower than for mainlanders. I also have friends who usually do not engage in the simplified Chinese internet, and many people think he is Japanese or has a persona that resembles a Japanese person, and then they immediately receive some preferential treatment.

Sometimes, when these things are shown to us, we find them quite ridiculous, but the greater feeling that follows is sadness.

This is similar to why many Chinese people are keen on investing in various foreign music game public offerings, because in many people's eyes, if you gain recognition from Japanese people, the treatment you receive will somewhat align with that of Japanese people.

This is also the reason I previously shared about the dark issues in music creation; this anxiety for recognition is indeed growing larger for creators.

For me, creation is primarily for myself; I do not need much affirmation from others. The premise of all activities is self-respect, self-love, and self-identity. If you place this love and recognition on others, you can only watch your mindset explode.

This environment is difficult to change in the short term, so if you, as a creator, cannot have this awareness, you will never be happy because you will always have endless recognition waiting for you to obtain.

However, many people still want to gain fame and money from this, which is why you see me posting such radical things; because I do not care about fame, traffic, or money, I can say these things.

That said, I still want to give all content creators a piece of advice.

When doing commercial orders, always prepare a contract, whether you are writing songs or drawing. If you don’t know how to write one, just look online for a similar template and imitate it, writing down your requirements.

What are your responsibilities and what are you not responsible for? What is the timeline? How will the payment be settled? How many free revisions can you make? How much will it cost if it exceeds that?...

You also need to learn to protect your rights; otherwise, being tormented will only wear down your initiative.

I spent about ten minutes writing this casually. I just returned yesterday after going out for a bit. There are some larger projects than this article that will gradually push forward. See you all soon. Author: 桃罐_Black201 https://www.bilibili.com/read/cv28908061/ Source: bilibili
